Fillings

These restorations are the most commonly undertaken and we are happy to advise on the suitability of the filling materials now available. Decayed tooth material is carefully removed before placing the filling material of your choice. Every care is undertaken to ensure your comfort when any procedure is carried out within our practice.

Root Canal Treatments

Teeth are held in the jaw by their roots. Front teeth normally have one root but teeth further back have more. Inside the tooth the pulp should be alive, with nerves and a blood supply in the root canal. Decay or injury can destroy this living part and might also cause an abcess at the end of the root. Root filling means removing damaged or dead pulp and filling the space left. The remaining tooth can then be repaired.

Hygienist Care

Dental Hygienists are specially trained to work with the dentist in giving care to patients. They play an important role in dental health care and are mainly concerned with gum health, showing patients correct home care and applying preventive materials to the teeth and gums. The Hygienist also gives advice on diet and preventing dental decay. The Hygienist will work with your dentist to provide care tailored to your needs.

Children’s Dentistry

It is necessary to emphasize the importance of good dental habits at an early age. We encourage children to become regular attenders from the age of 6 months. Taking care of a toddler's teeth consists of brushing for them at least 2 times/day but after the child attempts to brush on their own. Toddlers like the feeling of independence. Limiting the number of times they consume carbohydrates per day and using a fluoride toothpaste are also beneficial.

Pit and Fissure

Sealants are a safe and painless way of protecting your children's teeth from decay. A sealant is a protective plastic coating, which is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

Dentures

A removable denture replaces missing teeth, 'partial' dentures replace a few missing teeth and 'full' dentures are needed if all the natural teeth are missing. Dentures are made of plastic and sometimes metal as well to make them strong and less bulky.

White Fillings

A filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost because of decay or accidental damage. Unlike silver (amalgam) fillings, white fillings stick to teeth so they can be used to repair teeth (especially front teeth) which have been chipped, broken or decayed. They can sometimes be used in back teeth if there is not too much decay or damage.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured material that is put onto the front of the tooth to make it look better. The tooth might have been damaged by decay or an accident, or be discoloured. Ceramic Restorations. Same day crowns and inlays with maximum strength, great looks! more tooth preservation and its bio-compatible.

Fixed Bridges

A bridge replaces a missing tooth (or teeth) by fixing the replacement to the natural teeth at each side of the gap. Some bridges have crowns at each end. Others are fixed to the surface of the teeth next to the gap. Bridges are made of metal and porcelain or sometimes just porcelain.

Tooth Whitening

A very simple home witening system is available. Ask for details.

Implants

Implants are the closest thing you can get to having your own teeth back, almost like a third dentition. You will have the confidence to eat anything you like with implants. You won't need to avoid apples, crusty bread or steaks anymore. With implants there is no need to cut away at, or fix anything to adjacent teeth, unlike bridges. With modern technology, implant crowns can be indistinguishable from natural teeth. They also help to maintain facial contours by preserving the bone of the jaw, where the facial contours are already lost.

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner is the perfect solution for crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. It is really fast, very safe and great value compared to other systems. With the patented Inman Aligner, your front teeth can be gently guided to an ideal position in a matter of weeks. Most cases complete in 6-16 weeks and because it's removable you can take it out to fit with your lifestyle. To learn more about how the aligner works go to www.inmanaligner.com.

CEREC

A new digital way of making tooth coloured crowns, veneers, inlays and inlays from porcelain in the dental surgery without the need to send the impressions (moulds) away to a technician. The crown is made and fitted at the same appointment without the need to wait 2 weeks or without the need for temporaries to be fitted.
